7 Houses Damaged Due to Flash Floods in Bolapapu Village, Sigi
Sigi - Flash floods hit Bolapapu Village, Kulawi District, Sigi Regency. 7 houses were damaged and residents in hamlet 2 fled to a safe place.
The flash flood that hit Bolapapu village occurred at around 21:20 WITA, Saturday (8/8/2020) due to heavy rains that caused rivers and rivers to overflow into the settlement.
It was reported that the floods damaged seven residents' houses, four of them severely damaged. Apart from that, the flood which brought mud and rocks also closed the bridge in the village
Head of the Bolapapu Village Disaster Risk Reduction Forum (PRB), Nur Hasan Sigilipu, said residents in hamlet 2 are now taking refuge in the local elementary school building and to the homes of other residents in hamlet 3.
"The community gathering points are in the building and yard of the elementary school in hamlet 2. People also took refuge in the shelters in the field," Hasan explained, Saturday (8/8/2020).
There have been no reports of casualties. Meanwhile, at 23.00 WITA, Basarnas Palu deployed its personnel to assist in handling the banjir bandang disaster location.
