Decreasing 6.17 Percent, Telkom's Net Profit in the First Quarter of 2020 Rp 5.86 T
, Jakarta - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk posted a net profit of Rp5.86 trillion in the first quarter of 2020. The company recorded a consolidated revenue for the first quarter of 2020 amounting to Rp34.19 trillion. Profit before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) of Rp. 18.76 trillion.
Telkom's President Director, Ririek Adriansyah, said that the achievement was contributed by Telkomsel Digital Business and IndyHome fixed broadband as the Company's growth engine which recorded growth of 16.3 percent and 19.7 percent respectively over the same period last year.
"Both business lines are expected to be a mainstay for the company's business growth in the future," he said in an official statement in Jakarta, Tuesday, Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
He added that Telkom prioritized business lines that have good growth prospects, accompanied by efforts to obtain quality revenue so as to increase profitability margins and maintain sustainable performance growth going forward.
Basically, he said, Telkom has a diverse business portfolio, so it is not too dependent on one business segment.
"If there is a weakening in one segment, it will be balanced with growth in other segments," he said.
Despite the conditions of intense competition in the telecommunications industry, Ririek said, Telkom continues to build broadband infrastructure for both mobile and fixed line to ensure future business growth.
"The absorption of the Company's capital expenditure in the first quarter of 2020 amounted to Rp3.7 trillion. In addition to building broadband infrastructure (digital connectivity), TelkomGroup intensively continues to develop digital platforms and digital services as value added from the company's core competencies to continue to grow and develop," he said.
Meanwhile, based on Telkom's financial statements in the information disclosure of the Indonesia Stock Exchange , issuers with the TLKM stock code recorded revenues of Rp34.19 trillion during the first quarter of 2020, a decrease of about 1.88 percent compared to the same period the previous year of Rp34.84 trillion.
In the same period, the company's net profit was IDR 5.86 trillion, down about 6.17 percent from 2019's first quarter profit of IDR 6.22 trillion.
