Djoko Tjandra Isolation Independently After Transferring to Salemba Prison
Jakarta - Convicted in the Bank Bali corruption case, Djoko Tjandra, is currently undergoing independent isolation for 14 days in accordance with the health protocol for handling Covid-19 after being transferred to the Salemba Penitentiary (Lapas), Central Jakarta.
"Currently, Djoko Tjandra is self-isolating for 14 days as well as carrying out a period of environmental recognition (mapenaling) in his isolation cell," said the Head of Public Relations and Protocol at the Directorate General of Corrections at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Rika Aprianti, quoted from Antara, Saturday (8/8/2020).
Rika said that after 14 days of completing independent isolation, mapenaling, and the results of the Covid-19 rapid test showing non-reactive results, Djoko Tjandra would be placed with other detainees in a residential block room to carry out criminal and coaching programs.
He explained that as of July 31, 2020, Djoko Tjandra had been executed by the Attorney General's Office and became a prisoner by being temporarily placed at the Salemba Detention Center for the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police because his examination was still needed by Bareskrim Polri.
"On Friday (7/8/2020), the prisoner on behalf of Djoko Tjandra was investigated by Bareskrim. Therefore, Djoko Tjandra was then returned to the Salemba Prison," said Rika.
Furthermore, on the same day, he said, Djoko Tjandra was transferred to Salemba Prison to carry out his crimes as a member of the assistance.
Previously, the head of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency, Komjen Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, said that the examination of Djoko Tjandra for now was deemed sufficient.
"The examination of Djoko Tjandra for a while we think is enough. Therefore, we coordinate with the Director General of Pas for the next placement of Djoko Tjandra," Listyo said during a press conference at the Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Friday (7/8).
On that occasion, Listyo also said that the title of the case of alleged corruption in the form of gratuities related to the removal of "red notice" on behalf of Djoko Tjandra will be held next week.
"Next week we will carry out the title in order to determine the suspect for the corruption case by inviting colleagues from the KPK," said Listyo.
It is known that the alleged corruption case was raised to the investigation stage on Thursday (6/8/2020).
