DKI Deputy Governor Observes Mud Ducks in Sentiong River for Flood Control

, Jakarta - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria is monitoring the Mud Duck program at Kali Sentiong for flood control during the rainy season, Sunday. In the mud dredging program, 350 joint personnel of the Water Resources Office and the UPK of the Water Agency of the Environmental Service were deployed.

The Deputy Governor of DKI directly checks the progress of the Jakarta flood control program. According to Ahmad Riza Patria, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government anticipates weather anomalies, climate change and La Nina which are expected to occur in December.

"At the end of this year and early 2021, we can be sure that there will be an increase in water debit, so we need extra efforts," said Riza Patria at Kali Sentiong, Sunday, October 18, 2020.

A number of heavy equipment was deployed for dredging and lifting mud at Kali Sentiong , Johar Baru District. T ribs excavators and eight trucks tipping prepared to lift mud from Kali Sentiong.

"It is hoped that all parties will be actively involved so that all flood management programs can be carried out well," said Riza Patria.

Central Jakarta Mayor Bayu Meghantara said the mud raid program was carried out at eight points in Central Jakarta. "The mud raids for Johar Baru Subdistrict are concentrated in Kali Sentiong," said Bayu.

The mud dredging program or the Sentiong River Mud Duck involves officers from the Water Resources Sub-Department, the Environment Sub-Department, Fire and Rescue Sub-Department to Satpol PP. "The Transportation Sub-dept. And Satpol PP help maintain the smooth flow of traffic around the job site," said Bayu.
