, Jakarta - Transportation Specialist Djoko Soetijowarno said that the move of the DKI Government to re-implement odd even policies could be a temporary solution to traffic congestion in the Capital City.

"This could be a solution. Because traffic in Jakarta has been as usual during the PSBB transition," Djoko said when contacted, Sunday, August 2, 2020.

According to him, public transportation in DKI, is still able to accommodate passengers who turn to mass transporters when even odd policies are applied starting tomorrow. The reason is that until now the Transjakarta transportation mode has only activated 50 percent of its fleet.

Whereas the new KRL holds 40 percent of the passengers of the 60 percent capacity allowed during the transition PSBB . "So transportation in Jakarta can still accommodate passengers who switch to public transportation," he said.

However, said Djoko, the government still had to anticipate the surge in passengers every Monday, which became the first day of residents' activities after the weekend holidays. This is because the trend of surges in public transportation passengers such as electric trains always occurs every Monday.

"If other days can still be arranged. Monday the surge in passengers is high because those from outside Jakarta enter and usually they just return to their homes Friday," he said.
