Benevento ensure locking the championship in Serie B after a narrow 1-0 win over Juve Stabia on Monday (6/29/2020) local time. Benevento's single goal was scored by Marco Sau.

That result made Benevento win 76 points by winning 23 of 31 league matches, having a 24 point advantage over Crotone and Cittadella with seven matches remaining.

Benevento was promoted to Serie A for the second time in their history, after three years ago they also appeared in the top flight of the Italian League and lost their first 14 matches.
