Jakarta - There is good news for honorary teachers . Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and Chair of the Covid-19 and Economic Recovery Policy Committee Airlangga Hartarto stated that 1.8 million honorary teachers will receive Direct Cash Assistance or BLT from the government.
Airlangga explained that the BLT distribution plan for honorary teachers would be coordinated by the Ministry of Education and Culture or the Ministry of Education and Culture.
"Delivered a 1.8 million program for honorary teachers, which will later be implemented through the Ministry of Education and Culture, with the same policy as salary subsidies," Airlangga said in a press conference, Friday, September 18 2020.
For the value, Airlangga did not mention the exact amount. However, if the scheme is the same as providing salary subsidies to private employees, it is possible that the honorary teachers can get Rp. 600 thousand per month.
Previously, 398 thousand honorary staff were planned to receive salary subsidies in the second batch. Precisely in October and November 2020.
As with the salary subsidies received by private employees with salaries below Rp. 5 million, within those 2 months the honorarium employee or teacher will receive a salary subsidy of Rp. 600 thousand per month.
Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said the government would provide BLT to 1.8 honorary teachers. The BLT distribution will be coordinated with the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Airlangga also explained that the distribution of the assistance would later be carried out, such as the distribution of salary subsidies for workers with incomes below Rp 5 million. The amount of assistance will later be equalized to IDR 600,000 per month until December 2020.
"The policy is the same as a salary subsidy," he said.
Another requirement for recipients of assistance for workers with a salary below Rp. 5 million is that they must be registered as BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants. With a maximum membership period in June 2020. This also applies to honorary staff.
A total of 398 thousand honorary staff will receive salary subsidies in the second batch. Precisely in October and November 2020.
This is according to the instructions of President Joko Widodo or Jokowi and the Chief Executive of the Committee for Handling Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery (KCPEN) Erick Thohir.
Just like the salary subsidies received by private employees with salaries below Rp. 5 million, within those 2 months these honorary staff will receive a salary subsidy of Rp. 600 thousand per month.
Salary subsidies for honorariums are a form of government appreciation to those who have made contributions, paying BPJS for employment.
