, Jakarta - Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Handling Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan will lobby the United Arab Emirates to obtain an additional 10 million doses of vaccine developed by the pharmaceutical company G42. Previously, the cooperation with the UAE agreed that Indonesia would obtain 20 million doses of vaccine.

"We want to add another 10 million doses. Our communication is very good with the UAE, ”said Luhut in a virtual press conference, Friday, September 18, 2020.

Luhut has communicated with President Joko Widodo alias Jokowi regarding this additional vaccine request. If lobbying at the ministerial level is unsuccessful, he says Jokowi himself will contact the UAE.

With an additional 10 million vaccines, Luhut hopes that Indonesia can obtain 30 million vaccines from G42 by 2021. The vaccine cooperation was agreed last August through the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries.

"Cooperation is no problem, some have been paid, the contract has been signed. We want it to be faster and receive more, "he said.
