M 5.1 earthquake occurred in West Halmahera, North Sumatra

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 occurred in West Halmahera , North Maluku. The earthquake had no potential for a tsunami.

Based on information from the official Twitter account of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake occurred at 01.43 WIB, Saturday (19/9/2020).

The location of the earthquake is in the coordination of 2.24 North Latitude and 126.84 East Longitude or 128 km northwest of West Halmahera, North Sumatra. The earthquake was at a depth of 10 km.

"128 km northwest of West Halmahera, North Sumatra," wrote BMGK.

The earthquake had no potential for a tsunami. It is not yet known whether there is an impact from this earthquake.
