Maintain a Distance of 2 Meters Fear of Covid-19 during the match, this Football Team lost 37-0
A German football club lost 37-0 to city rivals, after only fielding seven players who kept a distance of two meters throughout the match.
The team has tested negative, but Ripdorf says the conditions are unsafe.
If Ripdorf does not play, they could be fined € 200 or the equivalent of Rp.3.5 million.
They had asked that the matches of Germany's 11th caste competition be postponed, but the local football association refused.
Ripdorf said they did not feel safe because at the time of the match, it had not been 14 days since Holdenstedt's players had contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19.
Holdenstedt's first team did not play in the match and the club fielded their second team.
At the start of the match, a Ripdorf player steps into the center of the field, passes the ball to the opponent, and the whole team then walks to the sidelines.
Ripdorf club head Patrick Ristow told ESPN : "The Holdenstedt players don't understand. But we don't want to take any chances."
He added that his players, "Do not engage in direct duels and obey the rules of social distancing, keeping a distance of two meters between them and the Holdenstedt players."
Holdenstedt doesn't hold back. They score one goal every two or three minutes.
"There is no reason not to play," said Holdenstedt coach Florian Schierwater.
