, Jakarta - Regional Leadership Council of DKI Jakarta Online Driver Association - Bodatebek objected to the odd-even rules which were re-enacted starting Monday, August 3, 2020.

"Because the DKI Regional Government should also consider the condition of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic which has not fully returned to normal," DPD Chairman ADO Samsudin said in a written statement, Saturday night, August 1, 2020.

On Monday, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta will re-implement the policy of restricting four-wheeled motor vehicles with odd-even systems.

Samsudin said they were refused, because for online transportation drivers the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic was still felt with the quiet of orders.

With the return of the odd even number, he said, the income of the driver will go back down dramatically because of limited space.

"DKI Regional Government should still apply according to Governor Regulation Number 51 of 2020 with Article 18 paragraph 2 letter k with the contents of application-based two-wheeled and four-wheeled transportation that meet the requirements based on the Decree of the Transportation Agency," he said.

He hopes that the DKI Jakarta Government will open a space for communication and discussion before re-applying even odd rules.

Until the news was revealed, the Head of the Transportation Service Syafrin Liputo had not yet responded to the matter of the Online Driver Association's rejection of the odd-even enforcement. The message sent by Tempo has not yet been responded to.

Previously, Syafrin said that even odd number police restrictions on cars were in effect on 25 capital roads on Monday-Friday.

As before, the policy does not apply on Saturday-Sunday and national holidays. The provisions are applied at 06.00-10.00 and 16.00-21.00 WIB.

The regulation refers to DKI Governor Regulation Number 88 Year 2019 concerning Amendment to Governor Regulation Number 155 Year 2018 concerning Traffic Restrictions with the Even Odd System. Previously, the odd-even rule was stopped since Monday, March 15, 2020, and continues to undergo an extension to the present.
