Pandemi Corona, Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission: Corruption Actors when Disasters Threatened the Death Penalty
KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri reminded all parties not to commit corruption in the midst of the Corona virus outbreak (COVID-19). He said the perpetrators of corruption in times of disaster could be threatened with capital punishment.
"Especially now, we are facing the Corona outbreak. Really, there are individuals who are still corrupt because they do not have empathy for the Unitary Republic of Indonesia. Remember that corruption at the time of disaster threatens the death penalty," KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri told reporters on Saturday (21 / 3/2020).
He stressed that the efforts to eradicate corruption by the KPK will not stop even if they have to face the risk of Corona virus. He said investigators to KPK investigators still continue to work until now.
"Fellow in charge of prosecution (investigation, investigation, prosecution, execution) is currently still working despite having to face the risk of COVID-19. Likewise, our colleagues, both investigators and investigators, continue to carry out activities in several provinces in the province. "to carry out activities to find and find corruption events, ask witnesses for information and conduct searches to find and collect evidence," said Firli.
Because, according to Firli Corona virus outbreaks will not stop the spirit of the KPK in efforts to eradicate corruption. The Corruption Eradication Commission will continue to fuel the spirit of anti-corruption even amid concerns over the Corona virus outbreak.
"Even though the atmosphere is full of concern, we are still enthusiastic in our efforts to eradicate corruption, to build and to foster a spirit of anti-corruption culture," he said.
In addition, Firli said that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was monitoring the Corona virus handling activity. He hopes that the Corona virus outbreak is quickly dealt with.
"I think, all parties are currently focusing on handling corona virus and the KPK has also given attention by monitoring these activities, this is also important, because it is a form of love among fellow children of the country. Hopefully everything can be handled quickly," said Firli.
Previously, the government updated national Corona virus case data. Recent data shows there are additions to more than 369 cases.
"The total case today is 369 people," said Government Spokesperson related to Corona Outbreak Management, Achmad Yurianto, in a press conference at BNPB, East Jakarta, Friday (3/20/2020).
There are additional cases that are cured. The total cases recovered were 17 cases. Meanwhile, for positive patients Corona who died increased by 7 people.
