Jakarta - Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, stated that the National Police felt that they were missing the failure of one of the 2020 Police Academy cadets because they tested positive for Covid-19. The reason is, the prospective cadets get the top ranking in the academic field.
"The National Police feels that they have lost the best participant in the selection to become a Police. However, it cannot be denied that one of the main requirements is Covid-19 free," he said in a written statement, Saturday (8/8/2020).
Argo said that the failed case of the Police Academy cadets was not only in the Riau Islands, but also in Polda Metro Jaya and Polda East Java.
"There were also those who were sent home because of the positive swab results. If the selection continues to be forced at the Center, it will be neglected to influence other participants to contract Covid-19, "he said.
Argo explained that the admission of prospective members of the National Police such as Police Academy cadets during the Covid-19 pandemic must prioritize health protocols.
"The selection committee prior to the implementation of the test was sworn in, and the selection committee in the health sector cooperated with the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) in each regional representative," he said.
Therefore, the selection of Akpol cadets or cadets during the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to being assessed for health, physical, psychological and academic. All cadets or cadets for the National Police Academy 2020 must be declared free from exposure to the corona virus or Covid-19.
"Participants must be free of Covid-19 as stated by the results of the swab by the task force and Bhayangkara Hospital and IDI," "said Argo.
